How These Cases Work

Months of genuine relationship, then a platform that takes everything.

The longest-running and most damaging fraud we handle.

01
The Relationship Comes First, and It Is Convincing

It begins as a wrong number, a dating match, or a professional contact. For weeks or months there is no mention of money at all — just consistent, ordinary conversation. Many of the people we work with describe it as the closest relationship they had at the time.

The name for this pattern is unpleasant and we use it only because it is what the industry calls it. Nothing about being caught in it reflects on your judgement — these operations are staffed, scripted, and run at industrial scale.

What an Investigation Involves

Actionreclaims Investigations

These cases produce long payment sequences — commonly dozens of transactions across banks, transfer services, and sometimes digital currency. We reconstruct the full sequence, including payments you may not have recorded, and follow each to its destination.

We also investigate the platform and the identity behind the relationship. The person you spoke to is rarely the person in the photographs, and is frequently themselves working under coercion. Establishing how the accounts connect matters more for recovery than identifying an individual does.

Our Process

Four stages, in the order we work them.

Full Sequence Reconstruction

Every payment across the whole relationship, including ones you can’t recall.

The operation behind the trading interface and who controls it.

Following consolidated funds through intermediaries to where they settled.

Built for banks, regulators, and cross-border law enforcement referral.

In their own words

“Fourteen months of talking every day. I still find that harder than the money. They handled both parts of it without ever making me explain myself twice.”

4.9 Rating

"Forty-one separate payments. I could only account for about half. They rebuilt the rest from my statements."

Miguel Spain

"I remortgaged. My family didn't know. It was dealt with quietly, and I decided in my own time who to tell."

H.L. Australia

"They told me the last transfers were the ones most likely to be traceable, and to focus there. That turned out to be right."

Common Questions

Very. These relationships are built over months and are genuinely felt, and doubt is the usual state of mind when people first contact us. An assessment is a way of finding out rather than committing to a conclusion — if the payments went where you were told, we will say so.

No. Cases are handled by a single named contact, nothing is published or used in marketing, and we approach nobody without your instruction. We work on cases in this category regularly and the sums involved are rarely small.

That is normal and not a problem. Bank and card statements let us rebuild the sequence, and partial records are enough to start.

Don't confront them and don't block them yet. Ongoing contact occasionally produces useful information, whereas a confrontation usually ends with accounts closing and the trail going cold. Raise it at the assessment and we will advise on timing.

Partially, in some cases. Recent payments are more recoverable than old ones, bank transfers more than cash, and funds that stopped at an identifiable institution more than those that did not. We give you a realistic view at the assessment rather than after you have paid for an investigation.
